This is why DC has been a cesspool of fraud. Everyone should want a government that is accountable. Truly how could a system this dysfunctional? It seems to me that there might be thousands of people, many of them well-to-do people, who should be in prison.

I agree with Dave Smith. There's an enormous amount of empty rhetoric out there. It makes you wonder who is holding the real power?
Maybe we should create a new national holiday, Mental Hygiene Day, where all of us consciously root out and reject the bullshit imposed upon us by govt and institutions. This requires tamping down our egos in order to scrape our minds clear of the vestigial bullshit that builds up over the year.
Find something, anything, to be fundamentalist about, ideally something very, very old, because there will be no truth out there soon, none, just an endlessly shifting, windy phantasmagoria. So find a mast and lash yourself to it. Heck, even classical herbalism will do.
